Youth Volunteers
Volunteering is a great way to “give back” to a community, and Tipton Hospital is proud to provide opportunities to make a difference to young people ages 12 to 17. One hour a month, or 3 days a week, each effort is a valuable support to the quality care of Tipton Hospital.
Volunteer Opportunities
Tipton Hospital offers opportunities for individuals to support the mission of our Hospital through volunteering in the following areas of the Hospital (this list may change at any time):
- Health Department
- Information Desks (Both North and South)
- Intensive Care Unit
- Laboratory
- Med/Surg
- Nutrition and Food Service
- Rehab
- Project Connect
How to Get Involved
Individuals interested in serving as a youth volunteer at Tipton Hospital must do the following:
- Individuals interested in volunteering and/or their parent(s) will contact the Volunteer Coordinator.
- The prospective volunteer will complete a youth direct service volunteer application and return to the volunteer coordinator.
- Applicant must be at least 12-17 years of age or still in high school to volunteer as an Youth Volunteer
- Parent must approve of the involvement
- The applicant (and parent if needed) is interviewed by the volunteer coordinator.
- The volunteer and parent/guardian must read and sign a Tipton Hospital Youth Volunteer Agreement.
- The volunteer will be scheduled for youth volunteer orientation.
- Following the successful completion of their orientation and all necessary health requirements, the youth volunteer may work independently in their assigned area.
